Job Description




We are looking for a knowledgeable and resourceful Accessibility Specialist. Naturally, we want someone who is sensitive to the electronic communications access needs people with disabilities have, but we are also looking for an individual who will complement the team.  You will become the “go-to person” for internal and external accessibility issues.
The Accessibility Specialist is responsible for identifying and suggesting potential solutions for accessibility barriers based on the W3C WCAG 2.1 standards as well as compliance with the ADA, Section 508, and other accessibility related laws. 



  • Conduct in-depth WCAG 2.1 compliance audits via manual reviews and using automated test tools and assistive technologies.
  • Develop/Update and maintain WCAG 2.1 compliance processes and VPAT documentation based on industry and government best practices and standards. 
  • Perform accessibility analysis on wireframes or mock-ups to identify potential accessibility violations. 
  • Prepare detailed reports documenting identified violations with suggested solutions, including code examples, based on existing designs.
  • Work with software development and QA teams to ensure WCAG 2.1 compliance
  • Review Section 508/WCAG compliance defects with developers and discuss possible resolutions.
  • Write HTML/CSS to fix problems identified from assessments and audits.





  • 3+ years of work experience developing under web accessibility guidelines (WCAG 2.0 AA, ARIA), requirements, and assistive technology.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze and develop standards / guidelines to code for WCAG and ARIA guidelines
  • Solid knowledge of HTML 5, CSS3, ARIA, JavaScript, as well as US ADA, Section 508, and W3C WCAG 2.1 standards. 
  • Experience with screen readers and other accessibility testing tools. NDVA, ChromeVox, JAWS, aXe, AMP, VoiceOver, TalkBack, color contrast checkers.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work well with diverse project teams and across functional areas.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and persuasively. 



  • Agile - must have a solid understanding of iterative projects where results are reported daily.
  • Experience with JIRA, Confluence.
  • Passion for building and helping others build accessible UIs.
  • Experience working with Visual Studio, WebStorm or similar IDEs. 
  • Experience with version control Git, TFS or similar.
