Job Description

 

•    Responsible for implementing predictive models in internal and customer facing products.
•    Required to apply advanced algorithms to improve current model performance.
•    Provides data analysis and consultation to recommend best application and use of analytics.   

 

 

PRIMARY ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES

 

•    Conduct analysis for statistical modeling projects with minimal guidance including:
o    Perform data mining and propose pragmatic modeling strategy for proper use.
o    Review and tune predictive models to achieve desired performance.
o    Document and present analytic results to clients without statistics background.
•    Directly communicate with the client and project team to obtain appropriate information for application of analytics/models and present results throughout the course of the project.
•    Work effectively in a flexible team environment with all levels of the APS organization.
•    Work on multiple projects simultaneously; deliver quality results in a timely manner.
•    Identify process improvement opportunities and develop new tools to increase efficiency.
•    Ability to test functionality and provide feedback to R&D on practical use of Alvaria technology.
•    Ability to test new software features and provide product defect information to R&D.
•    Serve as a technical escalation resource for analytic project issues and be a customer-facing technical escalation resource.
•    Train entry-level Data Analysts or new hires for analytic processes and projects.
•    Daily time tracking for Internal and External Projects. 

 

 

SPECIALIZED KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS

 

•    Advanced Excel skills including VBA required.
•    Experience with contact centers for collections or telemarketing.
•    Demonstrated competency in decision-making and problem solving.
•    Ability to communicate complex information to customers, internal resources, vendors, and partners at all technical and organizational levels.
•    Strong customer service and teamwork skills.  Professional demeanor to maintain and enhance all relationships.
•    Capability to work on extremely complex problems where analysis of situations or data is required.
•    Must be able to work independently and/or part of a wider project team.
•    Provide internal and customer facing analytics specific training.  
 

Qualifications

 

•    Masters of Science degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Physics, Computer Science, Operations Research, or an equivalent level of experience in a similar field.
•    Minimum 2 years with math/statistics and programming.
•    Minimum 2 years working knowledge of relational databases: PostgreSQL, Oracle or SQL Server.
•    Minimum 2 years UNIX/Linux experience including shell scripting.
•    Minimum 2 years experience with programming languages: Perl, Python, PHP, FORTRAN or JAVA preferred.
•    Minimum 2 years experience with logistic regression modeling, optimization or other quantitative analysis applied to real business problems.
•    Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously and independently.
•    Advanced Excel skills including VBA required.
•    2 years experience with call centers preferred.
